Contract Llama, LLC is not your attorney, it is a document preparation company. Our sister company, Basecamp Legal, is also not your attorney, unless you have separately hired Basecamp Legal by signing an engagement agreement. Now that we got those important disclaimers out of the way, here are some frequently asked questions to guide you along the way.

A legal template is a pre-drafted document that covers various legal situations, saving you time and money. Our templates are versatile and adaptable. For example, say you need to hire some help for your business, but you’re not quite ready for an employee, you can download our Independent Contractor Agreement. Or let’s say you’re going to be putting on an event where you take people hiking in the woods, you can download our Liability Waiver Agreement.

Once you make a payment, you will receive an email from Contract Llama with a link to download your template.

Absolutely! Our templates are made to be customizable. You can tweak, edit, and adjust them to fit your specific requirements – no legal llama drama! We give you the template in Microsoft Word. Just remember to delete the brackets, remove the highlights, and delete the letter from us at the beginning.

You bet they are! Our legal experts have crafted these templates with care, ensuring they hold the same legal weight as documents drafted from scratch. Trust them like a llama trusts its woolly coat in winter. But remember you do need to remember to fill-in and sign these templates for them to actually be a binding contract.

We're no one-trick llamas! Our founder is licensed in Colorado, California, and Idaho. Most of the documents were intended to be applicable throughout the United States, unless the template specifically says it’s for a specific state (like our Colorado Independent Contractor Agreement template). If you want to be sure about your state or local laws, we encourage you to engage a local lawyer, but because you have a template – it should save you some legal fees. Please note these templates are not intended to be used outside the United States.

We're all about flexibility! Your downloaded template will be in Microsoft Word because it’s easy to customize. If you don’t have Microsoft Word, please feel free to reach out to our team before purchasing.

We regularly monitor federal intellectual property and advertising laws for changes, and frequently update our contract templates. However, it will be a logistical nightmare to keep up with everyone’s contract version. So no, we do not send new documents. We recommend you do a contract review yearly.
