About
The Founder of Contract Llama
Here, we're all about helping entrepreneurs, small businesses, and startups reach their peak potential with comprehensive legal solutions that are as sharp as llama's teeth! Our founder, a Denver-based lawyer, (with more than a decade of legal experience under her belt) has been on a journey to create a legal template shop for you. We take our templates and the law seriously, but we also like to have fun with our website’s copy and marketing ideas.
Our founder might be small, but she’s also scrappy. She embarked on this journey with a passion for crafting accessible and top-quality legal templates that guide businesses to success. With experience that's as varied as a llama's woolly coat, the Contract Llama team has tackled everything from raising funds to securing our client’s brands with the USPTO, all while scaling entrepreneurial heights ourselves. We’ve represented hundreds of growing businesses and raised millions in funds successfully.
Our founder loves a good challenge and has built a practice in many areas of the law, from interning at NBC Universal and the US District Court to working on class action suits in Beverly Hills to representing the County of Los Angeles in employment suits to serving as outside counsel to multiple companies. A few lessons she’s learned or watched other people learn along the way, which led her to start this site, include:
-
Get the paperwork right from the beginning. We’ve seen too many instances of founders with good ideas, great intentions, and on-point execution getting shut down five years into a company because they never got their paperwork in order. It just takes one difficult investor, a partner with a life-changing event, or a client having a bad day to turn a business upside down.
-
Try to handle issues across a table instead of in court.
-
Making sure you are in alignment with your contract. If you don’t agree with what’s on the page, then you probably shouldn’t sign it.
With active bar licenses Colorado, Idaho, and California, our founder knows her way around the legal landscape. As a former litigator, she decided to help business owners be proactive by staying out of the courtroom. She’s also served as a mentor to a number of local and national accelerators to help small businesses launch.
When not busy scaling legal summits, our founder enjoys the scenic beauty of Denver, soaking in the mountain air with her husband and two dogs full of boundless energy. You might find her hiking, skiing, or taking improv classes.
